This picture is of George Sutherland and children from his second marriage and not John Sutherland, George was a brother of my great great grandfather Robert Su Used to visit Aunt Nan and Aunt Jessie when they lived in Polk City Florida. George Middleton is my 8 th great grandfather. Many of the family are born , Married and buried in St Machar ,Aberdeen. Charles Gordon 1664- 1740 David Brownjohn (my Dad) is the gentleman standing at the back with his hands in his pockets I doubt that is Arthur Ryle as he was quite a bit larger of a man. He also did not become captain until 1905. The captain at 1900 was William Llewellyn Hacon. My grandmother was Jessie Ross. Her son, David, was in the US Army and worked in law enforcement Ohio. David Ross wasn't in the USMC. He was in the Army and served in Vietnam.
