Twenty-one A4 pp. comprising extracts from the diary of Brenda Cicely Loder providing a fascinating account of Loder family holidays at Cambusmore Lodge during the period 1900-1909. (See picture #4885 for the location of the Lodge.) The extracts provide insight to social history, at both ends of the scale, including details of the family travel to Scotland in a private 45ft carriage of the L&NW Railway, the distinguished visitors to the Lodge, plus an annually growing number of local children attending Sunday School and Bible Classes at Cambusmore. Brenda Loder's Sunday School Book is at picture #10481 There is reference to Dunrobin Castle, the Braid v Vardon match at the Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Harold Loder's performance in the Carnegie Cup, visits to Embo, Helmsdale, Amat and mention of the solar eclipse of 1905, plus HMS King Edward VII officers and crew attending the Dunrobin Gillies Dance at Golspie. The diary extracts are complemented by 235 monochrome photographs taken during holidays from 1903 to 1908 (see picture #11147 which have been consolidated into two videos (see picture #11148 and picture #3500).

Hubert Sydney Loder died on 17 Aug 1982 in Chichester, not in 1938. He was my brother-in- law, Simon Loder's, father, and I knew him. Can I secure copies of these diaries for his descendants please?
