Sunday Reading for the Young 1898
Sunday school book belonging to Brenda Loder, with monochrome drawings and illustrations accompanying a series of short stories to be read to young children. The Loder family came every summer to Cambusmore from 1900 to 1910 (see picture #4559 for an account of their holidays and picture #11148 and picture #1149 for videos of holidays photographs) Brenda and her sister Winifred (see picture #2536) held Sunday School classes for the neighbouring children and this book may well have been used. The handwriting inside the front cover is that of Brenda Loder. The book was donated to the museum by the nieces and nephews of the late Miss Rachael Lees, daughter of Brenda Loder, with the request that it should be held in memory of Brenda and the idyllic holidays which the family had at Cambusmore Lodge.
