The Dornoch Community Council responded quickly to the 'lock-down', letterbox delivery of postcard size cards providing details of means of contact for help during social isolation. In the European region, Northern Italy and Spanish infection rates and deaths were the highest at this time, with a clear evidence emerging that those at the greatest risk were the elderly at 70+ years of age. Emphasis in community contingency arrangements was aligned, therefore, towards limiting the risk of infection of the elderly, relieving them of any routine requirement to leave the safety of home isolation.
