Photograph of the Carnegie Hero Fund Trust Certificate, presented to William Cumming, fisherman of Embo for saving the life of his friend from the fishing vessel 'Pearl' in stormy seas in the Dornoch Firth 1912. The certificate reads ' Presented by the Trustees in Recognition of Heroic Endeavour to Save Human Life to William Cumming, Embo Dornoch 21st February 1912' and is signed by the Trust Chairman and Secretary at Dunfermline dated 28th Mar 1912. A copy of a Northern Times article reporting the presentation of this certificate to William Cumming by the Marchioness of Stafford is at picture #11348.
