One of a series of 30 photographs, taken on 30th May 1990, during the construction of the Dornoch Firth bridge. The annotation on the back reads ~ The nose-piece of the first half-section of bridge spanning reaches the third pier from the south shore. The process of pushing a section from one pier to the next one took four hours usually.
The view seaward and the low flat peninsula of the Morvich Mo’r airfield (once R.N.A.S. TAIN) is on the right side.
Mr Wright, the Dornoch Solictor and Hon. Treasurer of the Dornoch Heritage Society stands behind the cabin of the motorboat on the right.
