One of a series of 30 photographs, taken on 30th May 1990, during the construction of the Dornoch Firth bridge. The annotation on the back reads ~ View inside the ‘Factory’ on the south approach causeway. The whole of the foreground is occupied by the side wall and floor of the bridge span half section. The reinforcing cage work awaits cementation. The 12 thick longitudinal tension rods are seen on the floor. At the end the blue cradle for holding the road deck which will cover over the whole span can be seen. Beyond this, and not in view, is the last completely finished half section, to which this one, when completed will be tensioned, and then ejected to form the next section of the bridge decking.
