Skelbo Castle preservation

An extensive collection of correspondence concerning the preservation of Skelbo Castle. Copies of letters exchanged by Dornoch Heritage Society with solicitors acting for the owners of the castle, local politicians, Highland Regional Council, the Clan Sutherland Society and various individuals. Includes a list of people who had signed the petition for the preservation of the castle, and various newspaper cuttings concerning fund raising and the progress of the campaign. Correspondence appears to have come to a head in March 1987.
