International Twenty Match badge - Robert Mackay 1892

Badge (a) in the form of a blue enamelled shield with a smaller raised silver metal shield in the centre with the Scottish royal crest. The outer shield is bordered by a twisted silver metal rope. Silver lettering round the outer blue shield reads 1892 INTERNATIONAL TWENTY MATCH WON BY SCOTLAND. The back of the shield is engraved Clr Sergt R Mackay 1st Sutherland SHRV, and is stamped with the maker's mark J ROBERTSON & SON 101 PRINCES ST EDINBURGH. The badge is fastened with a long pin with a prominent hinge and curled keep. The whole badge is convex in shape. The badge fits into a deep-lidded presentation box (b), which is covered in black paper with a gold border stamped on the top. The base of the box is lined with dark red velvet and the lid with red silk.
