Bronze medal (a) in the shape of an oval belt with buckle, arms of saltire protruding from behind, and lion rampant in the centre. Lettering round the belt reads SCOTTISH TWENTY CLUB INST. 1872. Stamped with the maker's mark JR&S.
The medal has a ring at the top which fits into a slot in the presentation box (b), which is covered in dark brown paper with a gold border stamped on the top. The base of the box is lined with purple velvet and the lid with faded purple silk stamped in gold with the retailer's name MILLIDGE & SONS 28 PRINCES ST. EDINBURGH. Box does not snap shut properly.
