Engraver's block used by watchmaker Andrew Alexander Paul, Golspie. Hemispherical base to allow the block to be positioned at many different angles, with rotating vice with semicircular jaws (adjusted by a knob at the side) that close across a circular plate. The jaws have two rows of small holes in the top. Two adjustable supports hold up the edge of the plate being engraved. Marked "Stehman & Swan Mfg. Co". An unfinished/practice engraved plate is in the vice. The block rests on a ring shaped sand-filled leather support for engraver's block
