Dornoch Burgh Ceremonial Regalia – 7th engraved shield of Chain of Office
Working anti-clockwise from the central enamelled crest, the seventh engraved shield bears the inscription ‘The Hon James Wemyss of Wemyss Provost 1766 - 1775.’ beneath which there is a second inscription ‘George Granville Duke of Sutherland Provost 1785 - 1833’
