By 25 March the rainbow had been adopted as a message of hope, just as the sun follows heavy rain. It was initially adopted in Italy, but quickly spread to the UK, Spain, the USA and Canada becoming a colourful symbol to cheer passers-by. It was widely displayed, with this crafted version appearing at the retail outlet 'The Jail'.
