Leaded copper alloy/Iron – shield shaped horse harness plate/mount – copper alloy front with the words ‘F. ROBERTSON, SADDLER, BONAR BRIDGE’ in an decorative border attached to a lead back with iron attachments. Late 19th- 20thC. Found at Skelbo. Another version of this type of badge is at picture #11222.

I contact you as a volunteer from the Land, Sea and Islands Centre in Arisaig. We have been handed part of a badge similar to the one you show except it has SADDLER in the same font and FORT WILLIAM instead of Bonar Bridge. We think it was made by Donald Boyd, a Victorian Saddler, from Fort William.
