Dornoch does it by degrees for UHI course
Copy of and article with accompanying colour photograph published in the Northern Times of July 12, 2013 concerning the Royal Dornoch Golf Club donation of £54,000 to the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) Centre for History, based in the town, to establish a three -year PhD studentship to investigate the history of sport and culture in Dornoch and the wider Moray Firth area from 1600-1800. The new project aims to bridge the gap in knowledge in the lead up to the town's 400 Years of Golf in Dornoch celebrations in 2016. The research starting in September 2013 will be carried out by Canadian Wade Cormack who will stay in Dornoch during the three year project. The photograph shows former Open Champion Paul Lawrie with local young golfers and researcher Wade Cormack at the launch of the project at the Royal Dornoch Golf Club.
