Aircraft landing at Glebe Park Dornoch June 1931
Northern Times 'From Our Old Files' extract, first published Thursday July 2, 1931 recording the arrival of an Avro -Avian aero plane at Dornoch Glebe Park on Friday 26 June 1931. The Messrs Cohen Avro-Avian aircraft had the registration G-AAGR and is recorded as the first aircraft to have landed at Dornoch. The postcard image of this event (picture #454) bears an annotation 'First Private Aeroplanet to Land in Dornoch 27.6.30' and photographs in the Hardie Album (picture #5465) also has a date annotation of 27 June 1930. Given that this NT extract does not record this as being the first landing at Dornoch, it is assumed that, by coincidence, the Messrs Cohen aircraft landed in Dornoch on virtually the same date in two consecutive years.
