One of 13 photographs taken in July 1990, during construction of the Dornoch Firth bridge. The annotation on the back reads ~ View showing the catwalks around the heads of the pier piles (2 men working on one). These are being prepared for the building of the piers (octagonal section) on top of them. Motor barge ‘VOE’ has just gone round behind them.
