One of a series of 30 photographs, taken on 30th May 1990, during the construction of the Dornoch Firth bridge. The annotation on the back reads ~ Dornoch Heritage Society Vice Chairman, Mr. James Mitchell, watches from the motor boat ‘PUSHYCAT’ approaching the south side landing quay. Here a caterpillar crane has lowered a steel mesh tube to be lowered into a cleaned-out pile preparatory to cementing, onto a dumb barge for towing out to the floating crane.
