One of a series of 30 photographs, taken on 30th May 1990, during the construction of the Dornoch Firth bridge. The annotation on the back reads ~ The second floating unit, designed to evacuate the gravel core of the sunk pier jacket, and to send down divers to inspect the structure inside, and place the cement holding mesh cylinder concrete reinforcing and pumping pipe in position for pumping in the cement.
