One of a series of 30 photographs, taken on 30th May 1990, during the construction of the Dornoch Firth bridge. The annotation on the back reads ~ The north approach road causeway, or embankment, at Ard-na-Caik is seen on the left, with the jack-up floating platform, or first floating unit (pile driving) to the right. The pile-driving equipment is seen below the crane hook and tackle. (A hand lens shows Dornoch Cathedral spire on the far RHS of photo).
