Scarlet woollen dress uniform component used to protect the shoulder of the dress tunic when carrying a rifle on parade. The shape is assymetrical, with a very roughly rectangular central area with a curving strap with a hook at the end coming down from one corner. The opposite side curves up into a point and has a buttonhole at each end. A webbing tape is sewn on to the inside, presumably so that something can pass through it. The outside is stained at one edge with oil or polish.

Dimensions: Width 208mm
