Recently a local resident came into the Museum and revealed that there had in fact been two German guns. The other gun was in the quarry near the golf course by where the life boat station is now. He remembers the Home Guard throwing home made 'molotov cocktails' at the remains of this gun, in preparation for any tanks arriving during a possible German invasion.

Does the second German Gun (in the quarry) or any remains still exist? I am researching WWI Trophy Guns and it would be nice to hear of another that still exists!

I went up to see the gun in 1991 shortly after it had been found, I have two photos of it minus the wheels. Let me know if you would like to see the photos.
