Silver accountrement from the Cameronians uniform cross belt belonging to Capt Rose . The star shaped fixing was positioned towards the shoulder with the chain looping down to the decorated whistle positioned towards the waistline. (see cross belt in portrait of Capt Rose picture #6822). The star shape bears 'rays' with the titles of Cameronians battle honours and has three screw attachments on the outer edge. The diameter of the star is 63mm. The decorated whistle has a double pharoahs head, with a Sphinx on the whistle holder, appropriate for the Egypt regimental battle honour. There is a catch on the whistle to release from the holder and on the rear two screw attachments. The whistle in its holder is 75mm long and 25mm diameter. There is a triple chain linking the star and whistle 380 mm in length. One of the chains has a broken link at the whistle end.
