Pencil, hand-written letter dated 11 Nov, with envelope, from Capt Darling concerning personal effects which Mrs Rose had requested to be returned. Capt Darling provides the explanation for the items not being available "His party was returning at the time and the Germans took the things you ask for before we could get them". He also mentions "The Colonel sent his name in, and I hope you will see that he will be "Mentioned in Despatches"
