Currently researching family history - My Great Granny was Annie Cummings born 28 10 1866 and died Lieth 16 04 1922. Donald Cumming born 23 1 1837 and died 5 2 1858 (Ardrossan Bay) and his wife nee Janet Grant (orignally Golspie) born about 1843 and died 21 5 1910 were my great great grandparents. Interested in any additional information. My undersanding is that Donald Cumming was drowned by "the upsetting of a boat".

Donald Cumming is my 3rd Great Grandfather. My Father Donald Mitchell named his sailboat Mitzpah after this boat!

My father Donald Mitchell son of Annie Ross, named his sailboat Mizpah after his "grandfather's" boat. This would have really been his great great grandfather. He had a picture of the boat.

If the photo was taken in 1975 of this article and it references James Cummings widow, Williamina (Mina Cumming née Gillie) then the publication date of the article must have been the latter half of 1975 as James Cumming died that summer according to Embo - Genealogy, Uncle Sandy's Story and a Little History by Rona Grigg.
