I have seen this photo before but may have forgotten to comment. My mother, commonly called Bunty Gordon is indeed the second from the left in the second row, but her younger sister Isobel is also in the second row, but is situated second from the right.

John and Jimmy Gordon were brothers and cousins of my father. Were Bunty and Isobel related to the boys? John Whittet as I recall became factor at Skibo estate. John Gordon as you probably know had the taxi etc business locally but Jimmy worked for the Automobile Association in Edinburgh. Cathel Matheson was Puffs right hand man foreman joiner Comment left on 31 March 2011 at 22:19 by Dan Murray
Although it just says "school photograph", I presume it is Clashmore School. I think Dan has the wrong John Gordon - John Gordon taxis/buses was seven or eight years younger than his brother Jim. I think this John Gordon is their elder brother, also John, who died age 10 in 1937 just before John Gordon taxis/buses was born. If you do a search on this site for "John Gordon" you will see photos of his school bag, slate, etc.

Re: Clashmore School Skibo 2558, John Whittet is the son of the factor at that time. The 'garden' Alisons are spelled with one L (it makes an L of a difference). I am in the picture bottom right.

My father, Frank Sutherland back row, stayed in Skibo when his dad, William Sutherland my grandfather, was green keeper.
