Five identical blue satin pouches with the emblem of the National Rifle Association stamped in gold on the front. The pouches fold in half and have a pocket inside the front and back. They are made of hessian lined with pale brown silk and covered with blue satin, with white piping round the edges. The emblem of the NRA is a circle with two standing figures inside, one holding a bow and arrow, the other a rifle, with the dates 1300-1500 at one side and 1860 at the other and the motto SIT PERPETUUM below.
The pouches were presumably made to hold a medal, membership card, score card or similar. Condition as follows:
.1 - satin worn through on outside of fold, back faded
.2 - silk lining fraying at edges, otherwise good
.3 - silk lining fraying at edges, front faded
.4 - silk lining fraying at edges, back faded
.5 - silk lining fraying at edges and split along inside of fold, front slightly faded.
Part of the Robert Mackay collection.
