Photocopy of a two page programme for the 'Donald Ross Garden Dedication' on Friday November 1, 1991, commemorating the life and work of Donald J Ross, born November 23, 1872 at Dornoch, died April 26, 1948 at Pinehurst NC. Records the unveiling of a statue by Mrs Lillian Ross Pippitt, daughter of Donald Ross. An accompanying photocopy of a newspaper article dated November 11, 1991 entitled 'Ross Statue Is Dedicated In Garden Off No 2 Course', includes monochrome photograph of the statue. On a photocopy there is an annotation by Elizabeth Shapiro: " My two sisters Janet and Susan, and my mother and I attended this ceremony. It was the last time the four of us were together at Pinehurst. We visited all of the 'important sites' of my mother's life there. The photo (2006.064.29) I am including was taken of course at this time, by someone of the Club there. My mother felt and stated it was an excellent likeness of her Dad. The painting inside (the Club) she thought dreadful, but needless to say kept that thought to herself."
