A spinning wheel (together with wool winder 2023_026_02) which had previously belonged to Dr A D Macleod, Dornoch)
His daughter (Mary Grant nee Macleod) remembers them being in their house, Burnside - the GP's house, in Dornoch.
His grand-daughter recalls that 'Grampa used to knit socks on 4 pins and did much of the darning. He was friendly with a Mrs MacDonald from Rogart, who was a great knitter and had a spinning shop (where the spinning wheel may have originated) along with Mrs henderson at Fourpenny, another knitter, and many other local ladies who were knitters and spinners.
The guide hooks or one arm are bent.
