Dean of Guild Court Dornoch Petition dated 2nd December 1936. This folded document relates to the Petition of Sutherland Watson of Rosebery Avenue, Dornoch for a warrant to erect a bungalow. The petitioner was not the proprietor of the subject but had received consent of the proprietor, Donald Mackay, Blacksmith, to erect a bungalow on the site. Three respondents were named and served with a copy of the petition. An objection was received on 9th December from Thomas Mackay, one of the respondents (copy of petition served and letter attached to the petition) regarding the risk of fire due to close proximity to his own property. Court met to inspect the site on 12th December (notice of this inspection attached to petition) and declared it without their powers to consider the petition until the Proprietor had obtained consent of the superior, His Grace Duke of Sutherland.
