Northern Area Joint Fire Committee Proficiency Shield scroll presented to Dornoch in recognition of their achievement in winning and retaining The Joint Fire Committee Shield for the year 1962. The scroll continues: 'The Shield competed for annually is awarded to the station showing the highest degree of efficiency in the handling of fire pumps, ladders, breathing apparatus etc and displaying a sound knowledge of fire ground procedure, station topography and practical fire fighting ability.' [It should be noted that this certificate was awarded in 1973! - see picture #14206]
