Typewritten copy of an eleven page obituary in memory of Mr Neil Snodgrass, C.E. published in the Glasgow Weekly Citizen of February 1850. This document was forwarded to The Editor of the Glasgow Herald in a letter dated 22 January 1936 (2018.048.01), disputing a published article claiming inventor of metallic packing of pistons was James Watt. The great-grandson of Neil Snodgrass cited the content of the obituary to substantiate the claim that it was the invention of Neill Snodgrass.
