MP3 recording of a talk by Graeme Muckart to the Dornoch Heritage Society on 19 April 2018. The stone was described as a 'rather splendid and vigorous representation of the coat of arms clearly used by early Gordons of Embo'. Graeme proceeded to highlight that the armorial bearings on the stone may be the work of a local mason with no specialist knowledge, perhaps based upon a description or a sketch provided to him. He then went on to explain the detail of the coat of arms and outline the extensive clan of Seton-Gordons descended from Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Sir Adam Gordon of Huntly.
