First in a series of 13 colour slides recording the architecture of Embo. This shows a typical 'one-and-a-half' storey Embo house with shell harling decoration to the front wall.

The wall was actually decorated with shells, not stones as stated.
The shells were painstakingly collected over a number of years by the owner William Fraser, aka Surl.

This task was done by my father - Willie Fraser ( better known as Surl) - also the back of the house was the same, (completely full of sea shells). Remember going to Free Church on Sunday - then after lunch our walk on the beach to collect shells.
