In reporting Council proceedings the article states that Mr C Beaton, architect, told the County Council that the matter had been brought to the attention of the Ministry of Works inspector. Mr J P Whittet, who had asked what progress there was, said that in icy conditions the stone could be dangerous if a car skidded into it.
