Dr W C Alford was Captain from 1971 to 1974. The Carnegie Shield winners in these years were Stuart Shaw, R Shearer, I A Gray and Gordon Fraser, so the player to the left of the Shield must be Shearer or Gray and the year must be 1972 or 1973. Comment left on 29 April 2016 at 22:06 by David MacLean
