A small domestic iron with sliding cover for an opening 72mm x 35mm at the blunt end for insertion of heated metal core (in place). A wooden handle, originally painted black, is mounted on a metal frame, secured by two small screw bolts to the base. This frame also has a sleeve mounted at the rear to support the slide for the opening cover.
