Golden Bear visits Dornoch
An article published in the Sports Section of the Northern Times of Friday 1 August 2014, recording a special week in which Dornoch was graced by the presence of golfers who between them have 22 major titles. The week was kicked off in fine style when golf's greatest champion, Jack Nicklaus, paid his fist ever visit to the world's sixth best course. Sandy Lyle, no stranger to the Royal Dornoch, returned as he tuned up for the Open and went round in 64. The final guest was Tony Jacklin. The accompanying photograph shows from left: Jack Lucks (college friend of Jack Nicklaus), Gary Dingwall (head teaching pro Royal Dornoch) Sean Fay (asistant PGA professional Royal Dornoch) Andrew Skinner (head PGA pro Royal Dornoch) Jack Nicklaus, George Clubb (Captain, Royal Dornoch), Dennis Bethune (President Royal Dornoch)
