A Year in Dornoch 2013
DVD 'A Year in Dornoch 2013' produced by Peter Wild as a personal view of some of the key events in Dornoch during 2013. With a running time of approximately 106 minutes the DVD includes as main events: New Year, Primary School Celebrations, Meadows sheep, Pipe bands, Tractors and Dornoch in Bloom Flowers, Sutherland County Show, Dornoch Highland Gathering, Light Aircraft fly in to airfield event, Festival Week, 100th Carnegie Shield golf competition, Bonfire Night and Hogmanay. Although the year was not chosen for any reason, other than it seemed a good idea, it turned out to be celebrating two 100th anniversaries, that of Dornoch Academy and the Carnegie Shield. It also had some of the best sunshine for years. There was a premiere at the Dornoch Social Club on 16 May 2014 with a large audience drawn from local charities and those appearing in the film. DVDs were sold at the close of the performance with 75% of proceeds distributed to chariites. Thereafter the DVD became a stock item in the Historylinks Museum Shop.
