Villagers to take on running of shop & post office
Article published in the Northern Times of March 14, 2014 with the title 'Villagers to take on running of shop and post office' reporting that after learning that its only shop and post office was to close, volunteers from the Embo community will be staffing a new village shop with outreach post office service. The Embo Trust, a charity set up with the aim of providing new facilities for the 300 strong community is credited with spearheading the initiative. As an expedient the shop will be based in the committee rood of the Village football team's pavilion, with the long term intention to locate the new store in the renovated former Embo Primary School. Ownership of the school has been transferred by Highland Council to the Embo Trust.
