Martin Hinton - The innate habits of a squirrrel
Copy of an article in the Natural History Museum magazine 'Evolve' Issue 16 Summer 2013 entitled 'Martin Hinton - The innate habits of a squirrel' by Karolyn Shindler. Martin Hinton, was Curator of Mammals at the Natural History Museum in 1927 and later became the Keeper of Zoology at the Natural History Museum 1936-1945. The Natural History Museum article, covers in some detail Hinton's response and findings following his journey to Dornoch in October 1927 to investigate a report of a pod of whales beached near Bonar Bridge. The whales were discovered to be Pseudorca Crassidens 'False Killer Whales' thought to be extinct. In response to a request from the Senior Editor 'Evolve' magazine, who had discovered photographs of the whales on the Historylinks Image Library (picture #8161), permission was given for the photographs to be used in this article (page 32) with appropriate attribution and in response, the Natural History Museum agreed to inclusion of the article on the Historylinks Image Library with due acknowledgement of copyright.
