Very interesting photo. Indian soldiers of the Royal Indian Army Service Corps were in Dornoch in 1942 and 43. There was a unit called the 'Reinforcement Unit' of 200-300 men and mules near the sea, and a Hospital at the Station Hotel (now Dornoch Hotel). If anyone has any more information about them, I'd be very happy to hear from you, as I'm researching these soldiers at Exeter university - gb350@ex.ac.uk

Hello Ghee,
I have a couple of photographs of an Indian soldier in Dornoch during the war, standing alongside my Grandmother and Uncles and also a scan of a few names/signatures they jotted down on a scrap of paper for my G,Uncle due to some interest he showed in the language/writing.
