Copy of an article, published in the Northern Times of June, 2013, recording the installation of 38 Solar Photo Voltaic panels on the south facing roof of Historylinks Museum, commissioned on 21 May 2013. The panels, installed as a result of a 90% capital grant awarded by Museum Galleries Scotland, offer the potential to significantly reduce the electricity used in the museum, meeting as much as 62 per cent of annual costs, achieving a saving of between £800 and £1000. As recorded in the article, the panels also confer the benefit of reducing the museum's carbon footprint.
