Inspector's Visiting Report Book Dornoch 1891-1897 required to be kept for every poor person whatsoever whether resident or non-resident (Including lunatic paupers) whose cases have been considered and determined by the Parish Council and who are admittedly chargeable to the Parish. Inspectors were required to enter, opposite the dates of visit, all alterations which occur in the circumstances of the paupers as there are detailed in the General Register of the Poor, noting also any changes in their families whether living with them or not. This book has single formatted page entries and is complete. The book has a brown leather spine with gold lettering "Visiting Book", the card coveresdhave brown marbling pattern. The book was originally held by Dr. James Maclachlan, GP in Dornoch from 1895-1936.
