Inspection of Dornoch Police 1937and early cinema show
Extract from the Northern Times ' From Our Photo Archives', published on 20 Sep 2012, with two short reports from the September 23rd, 1937 edition. The first records and inspection of the Sutherland Constabulary in Dornoch by Brigadier-General R M Dudgeon, Inspector of Constabulary for Scotland and highlights that in his address he mentioned "the benefits to be derived from the training now being given on air raid precautions, gas drill and so on". The second report is of a 'private cinematograph entertainment by Mr Roswell Miller , Skibo at the Sutherland Arms Hotel, Dornoch, to the Dornoch Highland Gathering committee and friends. Colour films were shown of Mr Roswall's local travel, winter scenes taken at his home in America and at various gardens including Skibo, Dornoch Castle, Ospisdale and Beaufort.
