Monochrome photograph, first of six related to Bonar Bridge, of the first bridge built in 1812 shortly after the Meikle Ferry disaster. The triple arch bridge was built to a Thomas Telford design. It was destroyed by flood in 1892. (see picture #11421 for details of the flood)
