Silver plated decanter with spherical body with geometric floral decoration and cylindrical neck with two bands of geometric decoration. Domed hinged lid with thumb plate decorated with grapes, which opens back on to the curved handle which has a bearded man's face in relief near the top. The body of the decanter is engraved with the details of the prize: "1900 CITY OF EDINBURGH & MIDLOTHIAN RIFLE ASSOCIATION WON BY COLR SERGT R MACKAY DORNOCH 14 shots 200 YDS 4 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5". No maker's mark other than small flower stamp in centre of underside of base.
