First of a set of 10 colour photographs of the remains of Embo fishing boats beached at Loch Fleet, in the bay on the western side of track from the southern pier at Little Ferry to the old level crossing at Skelbo Station. There is a local myth that boats were burnt by the Embo fisherman at the end of World War 2 when fishing was no longer economic. However this was not found to be true - see picture #15949 and its linked pdf file which provides detail concerning local the herring fishing industry including Embo and its fishing fleet.
