Christina Bruce Grant was born in Inverness on 25 May 1894, the daughter of station master William Grant and his wife Jeannie née Munro. Around 1896 the family settled in Pittentrail. She was educated at Rogart School, Golspie Higher Grade School and Aberdeen University. She died on 20 June 1970, aged 76.
