Is this really 1919? Not 1949? Comment left on 13 November 2010 at 09:59 by David Taylor The date range given on the Museum Catalogue entry is from 1919 to 1935 so the photo may well be much later in date Administrator
The tall gentleman is my grandfather Donald Murray and my mother says it is not 1919 probably in the 1930's. He would have been 24 in 1919 and we do not believe that particular date.

I agree with the date being in the 1940s (the ex servicemen of WWI look to be into their 50s) and it being at least in the late Autumn (note the fallen leaves) and likely the Remembrance Day service. Murdo McPherson was a friend of Walter Matheson and was with him at their training camp in Rippon, Yorkshire in April 1916 prior to their move to Flanders that year.
